Where to find: Account Preferences - Reward Shop - Items

As an administrator of your Firstbird company account, you have the possibility under "Account Settings" - "Reward Shop" to fill up the reward shop and activate it afterwards. To activate the reward shop, you have to create at least one reward in advance (you will find more about that in the next paragraph). 


Reward shop display

Where to find: Account Preferences - Reward Shop - Settings

Here you can activate and deactivate the reward shop for your users. Please note that at least one reward must be "published" to activate your reward shop. The actual "activation" of your reward shop must be made in a further step under "Reward Shop Display". As soon as you click on "Enable", the reward shop for your users becomes visible in their accounts.


Coin accumulation

Where to find: Account Preferences - Reward Shop - Settings

So that your users can also collect and redeem coins, you must explicitly enable this as well. This can be deactivated independently at any time. That means you can decide if and when your Talent Scouts collect coins. For all activities for which the Talent Scout receives points, he then also receives “Firstbird Coins” at the same amount.


Reward shop items

All rewards are displayed in this area. You can create as many rewards as you want.


Here you can find all the rewards that are displayed in the Reward Shop and can be purchased.


Rewards that have not been completed appear in this tab.


Hidden Rewards will not appear in the Reward Shop and can not be purchased.


Rewards must be hidden first before being deleted.


Create a reward

Where to find: Account Preferences - Reward Shop - Items

Click on the "+" above the text "Create a reward". A window will pop up asking you to title your reward and asking you to provide a more detailed description. 



The displayed title of the reward.

Description (optional)

Additional information of the reward.

Coins needed

Number of "coins" needed to redeem the reward.

Level needed (optional)

The minimum level needed to redeem the reward


The number of available items.

Internal Value (optional)

This value is for internal use only. Talent Scouts will not see it at any stage.

+ Add image (optional)

For better illustration of the reward.
The minimum size is 300x160 px.

Contact Email (optional)

This person / mailing list will be notified when a Talent Scout redeems the reward.


By activating the "Reward Shop Display" the created rewards become visible for your Talent Scouts.



Firstbird Coins in Reward Plans

Where to find it: Account Preferences – Reward Shop – Settings – Coin Availability for Reward Plans

The function “Coin Availability for Reward Plans” allows you to add coins to your reward plans. If a “Hire” is generated, the Talent Scout has the chance to receive Firstbird coins as a “Hiring Reward”. The Talent Scout can then redeem these coins individually in the reward shop.

Please Note!

In order for your Talent Scout to be able to redeem their coins, your reward shop must be activated or you should at least be planning to activate the reward shop in the near future. 

To activate the function “Coin Availability for Reward Plans”, go to your “Account Preferences - Rewards Shop - Settings” and activate the item “Coin Availability for Reward Plans” (green tick).


As soon as you have activated this function, you can create coins as a reward in your reward plans.

Please Note! 

You can deactivate the “Coin Availability for Reward Plans” function at any time. The rewards you have already created will remain unaffected and can still be added to jobs. However, no new “coin rewards” can be added to the reward plans.

How can I deactivate the reward shop again? 

To enable your reward shop, go to your "Account Settings" - "Reward Shop" - "Settings". Please note that once you disable the reward shop, it will no longer be visible to your Talent Scouts. Note: To avoid confusion, however, you should notify your Talent Scouts that a "deactivation" of the reward shop has taken place. You can reactivate the shop at any time. 

I disabled the reward shop. Can my Talent Scouts continue to earn coins? 

As long as you have not disabled the “Coin Accumulation” feature, your Talent Scouts will still be given coins for activities. However, they will not be able to redeem the generated coins in the reward shop.   

Can I start collecting coins before activating the reward shop? 

Yes, you have the possibility to activate this function in advance. Please note: as long as the shop is disabled, the Talent Scouts will collect coins but will only see that they collected them as soon as the shop is activated.

How can I delete a reward?

To delete a reward you have to "hide" it first. You will find the reward in the ‘Hidden area’. You can now "edit" and delete it.

How are my talent scouts informed about receiving the rewards?

After Talent Scouts have ‘purchased’ a reward in the Reward Shop, they will receive a confirmation (about the purchase) by e-mail.

However, this confirmation does not describe how the Talent Scout receives his/her reward. Please therefore make sure to have a rule in your "Reward policy" defined.

There is the possibility to deposit a "contact person / e-mail address" behind every created reward. This person should be responsible for the "distribution" of the earned reward.Thus, both sides (Talent Scout & reward contact) will be informed of the acquisition of a reward.

What do I have to bear in mind before the activation of the reward shop?

  1. Update the Privacy Policy

Please find attached the updated template for your Privacy Policy (v1.6), including the new paragraphs for the reward shop.  

  1. Adjust the Terms of Use

Please consider what the rules for your Firstbird reward shop will look like, while keeping the following points in mind:

  • Should your users be entitled to the rewards provided?
  • Will the coins lapse if they are not redeemed?
  • What happens with the coins if a user deletes his account or leaves the company and hasn't cashed in (all) his or her coins yet?
  1. Inform the users about the changes in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use

We advise you to inform your users about the changes (in an internal email) prior to the activation of the reward shop.

Please also point out to your users that if they do not agree with the Firstbird reward shop, they may withdraw their consent by deleting their user account themselves or by sending an email to an email address your provided and asking you to delete it.
