Connected Networks

You need to connect to your social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Xing or Twitter) to share jobs. If you use Firstbird mobile or our App, you can share jobs via Whats App as well.

 

Connect to a Network

Please log into your Firstbird account, go to “My Settings”, and then to “Connected Networks”. To connect your Firstbird account to one of the social networks, click on the button “Connect”.

Next, a window will pop up and you will be asked to enter your login details of your social media account.

Firstbird asks for permission for following data:

  • Your profile: Name, picture
  • Share on your wall

If you are in agreement with this, please enter the login details of your social media account and click the button “Access allowed/Log In”.

The connection will be created immediately after your confirmation and you are able to share jobs automatically.

Please note!

Due to security reasons, every 60 days you will be invited to enter your social media password once again.

Where to find: Click on Company Name - My Settings - Connected Networks - Social

 

Disconnect from a Network

If you would like to disconnect your social media account from your Firstbird account, you have following options:

  • temporary or
  • finally

Temporary Disconnection from your Social Media Account

To disconnect temporarily from your social media account, you only need to click the button “Disconnect” in “My Settings” - “Connected Networks”.

If you would like to reconnect with your social media account, simply click the button “Connect”. You have to enter your password for your social media account again every 60 days.

Final Disconnection from your Facebook Account

For a final disconnection from your social media account, go to “My Settings” - “Connected Networks” first, and click on the button “Disconnect”.

Next, log in to your Facebook account, go to the little arrow top right and choose “Settings” and click “Apps” at the left area. Look for the Firstbird app (1brd), hoover over and remove it by clicking “X”.

Well done, the connection between your Firstbird and Facebook account has been successfully disconnected.

Final Disconnection from your LinkedIn Account

For a final disconnection from your social media account, go to “My Settings” - “Connected Networks” first, and click on the button “Disconnect”.

Next, log in to your LinkedIn account, click on your profile picture and move to “Settings & Privacy”. Move in “Account” to “Partners and Services” and then click under “Permitted Services” on the function “Change”. Look for the Firstbird app and remove it by clicking “Remove”.

Well done, the connection between your Firstbird and LinkedIn account has been successfully disconnected.

Final Disconnection from your Xing Account

For a final disconnection from your social media account, go to “My Settings” - “Connected Networks” first, and click on the button “Disconnect”.

Log in to your Xing account and move to “Settings/Invoices & Accounts”. Next, choose “Settings” and “Privacy”. Scroll down to “External application”, look for the Firstbird app and click on the button “Revoke access” to remove the permission.

Well done, the connection between your Firstbird and Xing account has been successfully disconnected.

Final Disconnection from your Twitter Account

For a final disconnection from your social media account, go to “My Settings” - “Connected Networks” first, and click on the button “Disconnect”.

Next, log in to your Twitter account, click on your profile picture and move to “Settings and privacy”. Go to “Apps” at the left area and look for the Firstbird app. Remove the app by clicking the button “Revoke access”.

Well done, the connection between your Firstbird and Twitter account has been successfully disconnected.

Can't share a job

If you are experiencing problems with sharing a job, please read and try out the following solutions. 

Xing

  1. First delete the connection to your Xing account and activate it again.
  2. Then close and reopen your browser.
  3. Now try sharing a job on Xing again. 

If the first attempt does not work in Chrome, please try it in Firefox or vice versa.

In the case that the above instructions were not successful, you can try deleting the Firstbird App in your Xing account:

  1. Delete the connection to Xing in your Firstbird account.
  2. Log into Xing.
  3. Go to "Einstellungen" in your account.
  4. Scroll down to "Externen Applikationen".
  5. Remove 1brd.com "Zugriff entziehen"
  6. Close and reopen your browser.
  7. Login to Firstbird and connect to Xing.
  8. Login to Xing and "Zugriff wieder erlauben"

Facebook

  1. First delete the connection to your Facebook account and activate it again.
  2. Then close and reopen your browser.
  3. Now try sharing a job on Facebook again.

If the first attempt does not work in Chrome, please try it in Firefox or vice versa.

In the case that the above instructions were not successful, you can try deleting the Firstbird App in your Facebook account:

  1. Delete the connection to Facebook in your Firstbird account.
  2. Login into Facebook.
  3. Go to "Settings" in your Account.
  4. Click on "Apps" on the left-hand side.
  5. Delete Firstbird by clicking "X" "Remove".
  6. Close and reopen your browser.
  7. Log into Firstbird and connect again with Facebook.
  8. Log into Facebook and "Allow Access Again".

Slack

Firstbird for Slack will allow users to receive notifications directly into their Slack channel. Firstbird Company Administrators will have the ability to install Slack for their teams, and select a channel in which the public notifications will be published to. Company Talent Scouts will then have the ability to connect their Firstbird account and Slack, which will allow them to receive direct messages directly into their private Slack channel, as well as public notifications into a team channel. 

Asking the Slack bot for help

The Slack bot is always happy to help.
You can ask for help by typing "help" in the private channel of the Firstbird bot. 

Where to find: Click on Company Name - My Settings - Connected Networks - Instant Messengers

 

How to install Slack for Recruiters:

  1. Log in to your Firstbird account - Firstbird Log In
  2. Go to"My Settings" - "Connected Networks" and then to "Instant Messengers"
  3. Click (Company Name top-left) "Connect" on Slack and you will be redirected to the Slack authentication flow (extra window)
  4. Select your team or click on "Sign in to another team"
  5. Click the “Authorize” button to give you access to Firstbird Slack App
  6. Confirm your settings by clicking on the “Save” button
  7. Your Slack account is now connected to Firstbird

Where to find: Click on Company Name - My Settings - Connected Networks - Instant Messengers

 

How to disconnect Slack for Recruiters:
  1. Log in to your Firstbird account - Firstbird Log In
  2. Go to (Company Name top-left) "My Settings" - "Connected Networks" and then to "Instant Messengers"
  3. Click "Disconnect" on the Slack tile and the connection between your Slack account and Firstbird will be dissolved
